The DC power jack is attached to the motherboard and is an inexpensive part to replace if you have soldering gun/iron and some technical knowledge and maybe a service manual if necessary.Of course the repair shop isn t going to tell you that when they can tell you it is the whole motherboard that needs to be replaced. They usually charge around $600 to replace the mother board plus labor and it s quite likely they will replace the jack and attach it to your old motherboard.
