PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID. I originally purchased this couple months back for myself. I had just sold my Philips 20x DVD-RW to my friend(regretably). So anyways it was the first time i ever read a review for a cd drive. So many good reviews for this thing so i decided to buy one. Well i purchased this one from ebay seller morneault . Auction said it was brand new in box..... i got the item and the box wasnt even sealed :-/ The drive itself is in good condition but DEFINATELY not new. I installed it in my comp and the pos would burn dvds but i couldnt read them o.0 i prolly went thru 10 dvds and like 5 cd-r s before givin up and pullin the drive out. I inspected the drive and the factory seal on it is broken. I can assure you it wasnt done by me but just wanted to be clear and mention that. After i got fed up wit the drive i put it back in the box and put it in the closet sayin i would deal wit it some other time. I researched a lil more and saw something bout upgrading firmware but i never messed wit that. Either way i ended up buyin an SATA HL 20x DVD-RW wit lightscribe for my new mobo and i never had a problem. So now im puttin up the sony drive. Im sellin it AS-IS for Parts or Repair. Comes wit original box and the Extra Black Face. No cds or documents included. any questions let me know. THIS DRIVE IS NOT SATA!!!!
